Millennium Information Services alleged to have violated Equal Pay Act

Law money 02

HOUSTON – A Richmond woman formerly employed by an insurance services company alleges she was paid less than her male counterparts.

Debra Hunt filed a complaint on May 23 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Millennium Information Services Inc. alleging violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Equal Pay Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began her employment with the defendant in August 2016 as a field quality consultant. She alleges she was improperly classified as exempt and was not paid for overtime work at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular wage rate.

The plaintiff also alleges that her starting salary was $40,000, but a male field quality consultant was paid $60,000 as a starting salary. She alleges she left her employment with the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Millennium Information Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against her regarding the terms, conditions and privileges of her employment and failed and refused to compensate her for overtime work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, reinstatement or front pay, interest, costs of court and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Robert J. Filteau and John A Sullivan III of The Law Offices of Filteau & Sullivan LTD LLP in Houston.
