HOUSTON – An alleged wet floor at a Houston restaurant caused a woman to fall, according to her suit.

Tachaun Bates filed a complaint on May 25 in the Harris County District Court against China East Bay Inc., doing business as V Star, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 14, 2016, she was an invitee at defendant's V Star restaurant when she slipped and fell due to a slick or slippery fluid on the floor. She alleges she sustained injuries that caused her to suffer medical expenses, loss of earnings, pain and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds China East Bay Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect its premises and failed to warn its guests of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for her damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other and further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Hector F. Ruiz of The Law Office of Hector F. Ruiz in Houston.
