HOUSTON – An invitee alleges she was injured at a Houston hospital because of a waxy substance on the floor that caused her to fall.

Danita Below filed a complaint on June 4 in the Harris County District Court against St. Luke's Health System Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 29, 2017, she was injured while walking through the histology lab of defendant's hospital after slipping on a waxy substance on the floor. She alleges she was seriously injured and was caused to suffer medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds St. Luke's Health System Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct the dangerous condition and failed to warn of it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Matthew Menter and John Arthur Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
