HOUSTON – A salesperson for an air conditioning and heating business alleges that she was discriminated against because of her sex.

Sharon Mertins filed a complaint on June 5 in the Harris County District Court against Direct Energy GP LLC and One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating alleging violation of the Texas Labor Code and the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired as a salesperson with One Hour in 2014. She alleges her female office manager harassed her, she was offered fewer sales calls than male co-workers and that she was physically threatened by a male warehouse manager.

The plaintiff holds Direct Energy GP LLC and One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated against her because of her sex and subjected her to severe and pervasive sexual harassment.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000 and such other and further relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Ronald M. Estefan of The Estefan Firm PC in Houston.
