HOUSTON – A Harris County couple alleges they were injured in a Houston restaurant's parking lot when they tripped over an unmarked parking barrier.

William Shipman and Sandra Shipman filed a complaint on June 7 in the Harris County District Court against FSI Restaurant Development LTD, doing business as Babin's Seafood House, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 28, 2017, they were injured at Babin's Seafood House when they tripped and fell over a parking barrier. They allege the barrier was not painted and the parking lot was dark.

The plaintiffs hold FSI Restaurant Development LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate lighting at the parking area and failed to mark the parking barrier of any form to give warning.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
