Patient alleges permanent lung damage after procedure at Southeast Texas Cardiology

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County woman alleges that she suffered permanent lung damage as a result of a 2016 procedure.

Judith Keith filed a complaint on June 7 in the Jefferson County District Court against Rudolfo P. Sotolongo MD, Rudolfo P. Sotolongo MD PA and Southeast Texas Cardiology alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 29, 2016, she was underwent a heart catherization and coronary angiogram with defendant Sotolongo and during the process, he punctured her lung. She alleges she has suffered permanent lung damage as a result.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly breached and deviated from the standard of care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and all other relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Craig Lewis and Aaron J. Arenas of The Lewis Law Firm in Houston.
