HOUSTON – A woman alleges she was injured at a commercial office space when an elevator caused her to fall in her wheelchair.

Susan Levonius filed a complaint on June 19 in the Harris County District Court against 5909/5959 Realty LTD, Tejas Elevator Co. and G.J. Braun Corp. alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 14, 2016, she was injured at defendants' premises in Bellaire when her wheelchair's rear wheel dropped several inches due to the unleveled elevator, causing her to fall backward. She alleges she sustained serious and severe injuries resulting in pain and suffering, physical impairment and medical expenses as a result of the incident.

The plaintiff holds 5909/5959 Realty LTD, Tejas Elevator Co. and G.J. Braun Corp. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to repair and inspect the elevator.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of less than $100,000 and such other just and further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Mackenzie B. Linyard of Rad Law Firm in Dallas.
