Former Lilis Energy executive alleges he is owed unpaid bonuses

HOUSTON – A Magnolia man alleges he was terminated from his job with an oil and gas exploration and production company and was not paid bonuses and other costs per his employment agreement.

Seth Blackwell filed a complaint on June 21 in the Harris County District Court against Lilis Energy Inc. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 3 he was terminated from his employment with the defendant as its executive vice president of land and business development. He alleges that per the terms of his employment agreement, the defendant was required to pay any unpaid base salary, vacation pay, bonuses and other expenses.

The plaintiff holds Lilis Energy Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated his employment without paying his cash incentive bonus and without issuing his 100,000 shares of unvested incentive stock options, 66,667 incentive stock options and 266,667 shares of restricted stock.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by G. Scott Fiddler and Andrew W. Reed of Fiddler & Associates PC in Houston.
