SHERMAN – A Whitesboro woman alleges that a debt collector unlawfully contacted her at work.

Deanna Ogg filed a complaint on July 9 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Medical Data Systems Inc. alleging that the Florida business entity violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in January, defendant began contacting her at her place of employment in an attempt to collect a debt. She alleges she advised the defendant to stop calling her at work, but the calls continued.

The plaintiff holds Medical Data Systems Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly contacted her at her place of employment despite knowing that her employer prohibited such communications.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $1,000, actual and punitive damages, costs, attorney’s fees and such other and further relief as may be just and proper. She is represented by Jenny DeFrancisco of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
