HOUSTON – Local residents David and Alesa Mora have pursued legal action against Retreat at Cinco Ranch, LLC, alleging the apartment complex in Katy seized their personal possessions from their hurricane-damaged unit without their permission.

The Moras filed a lawsuit in the Harris County 334th District Court on July 16. Their ordeal purportedly arose after Hurricane Harvey rendered their apartment inaccessible in late August 2017.

Court papers state that the defendant gave the plaintiffs up to Sept. 11, 2017 to retrieve any remaining possessions, but reneged on the deadline.

Consequently, the complainants seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by Michael J. Lowenberg, Andrew D. Kumar, and Kyle P. Knizner of the law firm Lowenberg & Kumar in Houston.
