HOUSTON – A Waller County man is suing Houston NFL Holdings, L.P. and Cordua Restaurants, Inc., doing business as Churrascos, for injuries he allegedly sustained ahead of a Houston Texans game last year.
In a lawsuit filed on July 17 in the Harris County 334th District Court, Daniel Olivares says he was attending a pregame event organized by the defendants at the Churrascos Club inside the team’s training facility on Dec. 10, 2017 when the subject incident occurred.
According to Olivares, he “tripped and fell to the ground” while attempting to leave the venue.
He blames “the transition between Astroturf and the hard tile floor, as well as the elevation change between the two” for the purported injury to his left shoulder.
Court documents fault the respondents for failing to eliminate the condition in question.
Consequently, Olivares seeks unspecified monetary damages.
Marcus R. Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine of the law firm Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston are representing the plaintiff.
