HOUSTON – A worker at a drill pipe and drill stem tubular manufacturer in Houston alleges malfunctioning equipment caused a hand injury.

Aurelio Salinas filed a complaint on July 17 in the Galveston County District Court against Superior Drillpipe Manufacturing Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 25, he was injured while in the course and scope of his employment with the defendant when the stamping machine he was operating malfunctioned, causing severe damage to his right thumb.

The plaintiff holds Superior Drillpipe Manufacturing Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide safe equipment, failed to properly train and supervise its employees and failed to employ qualified supervisors.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, and such other and further relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Donald H. Kidd and Adam J. Blake of Perdue & Kidd in Houston.
