HOUSTON – A Katy man has brought a slip and fall lawsuit against Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. in response to injuries he reportedly suffered almost two years ago at the defendant’s Hilton Houston Westchase Hotel.

James Moore alleges the incident occurred on July 31, 2016 when he was dining with his family at the hotel’s Rio Ranch Restaurant. He excused himself to go to the restroom, which is located outside of the restaurant and in the lobby area.

Court papers filed on July 23 in the Harris County 164th District Court state that Moore entered the restroom and then “slipped and fell on the floor, which was flooded with water.”

The defendant “negligently permitted the floor to become slippery and wet,” according to the original petition.

Consequently, Moore seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Jonathan H. Cox of The Cox Pradia Law Firm, P.L.L.C. in Houston.
