GALVESTON – A property buyer alleges the seller has failed to convey the property after the final payment was made.

Ericka G. Nickerson filed a complaint on July 24 in the Galveston County District Court against Karen Lee Johnson alleging that the seller violated Texas Property Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 22, 2012, she contracted defendant to purchase real property known as 1119 Eighth Ave. N., Texas City for $42,000. The plaintiff fully paid the said amount in March 2018, the suit states.

The plaintiff holds Johnson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to convey the property within 30 days as required, failed to record the contract with the county clerk and failed to provide annual accounting and a written disclosure.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, legal fees, costs and expenses and such other and further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Kyle L. Dickson of Murray | Lobb PLLC in Houston.
