The Law Offices of Joseph Malley nominated as a 2018 Elite Trial Lawyers Finalist

The other nominees in this area of law are Berger Montague, Gerald Gibbs, and Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein.

The winners for each category will be announced at the Elite Trial Lawyers event on Oct. 5, 2018, at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

Editors and reporters from The National Law Journal and its parent company, ALM, reviewed more than 300 submissions across 23 categories to arrive at its list of finalists.

According to The National Law Journal, “the lawyers and law firms selected as finalists have demonstrated exemplary performance in cutting-edge work on behalf of plaintiffs over the last 18 months.”

The nomination criteria included that a firm score at least one significant plaintiffs win between Jan. 1, 2017, and April 30 and possess an impressive record of success within the past three to five years.

A “significant win” means prevailing in a bench or jury trial or in a major settlement in which the stakes are high; for example, a substantial amount of money is involved or the outcome could affect litigation strategy or the results in similar cases.

Cases from the Law Offices of Joseph H. Malley's Data Privacy Federal Class Actions were highlighted in the award submission.

According to the firm, since 2003 The Law Offices of Joseph Malley has pioneered the emerging field of Data Privacy Law, filing Federal Class Actions against 400 companies violating consumer's privacy, most notably, the first case to sue facebook for privacy violations in 2008: Lane v. Facebook, decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, Nov 2013.
