HOUSTON – A 65-year-old Conroe man alleges his age was a factor in his termination from a natural gas producer.

Ernest Leuenberger filed a complaint on July 30 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Indigo Minerals LLC alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendant in 2014 and was terminated in 2016. He alleges he was told he was laid off due to a reduction in force but he was the oldest and only one of two people laid off in his division. He alleges he was replaced by people younger than him.

The plaintiff holds Indigo Minerals LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against him and discharged him because of his age.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and interest and such other and further relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Alfonso Kennard Jr., Ronald Dupree and Victor Nathaniel Ang of Kennard Richard PC in Houston.
