HOUSTON – A woman alleges she was terminated by a financial institution without any valid reason.

Gail M. Kelley filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the Harris County District Court against Katmas Investments LP and LPL Financial LLC alleging unlawful termination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 2, she was terminated from her employment with the defendants after 14 years of service and without any valid reason.

She alleges she is not a registered adviser and cannot place trades, but co-worker asked her to invest a client's funds into any investment opportunity she chose. She alleges she refused to do so because it would have constituted a criminal offense, and was terminated after this incident.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of jurisdictional limits of the court, award for all damages, with interest, costs and all other relief that is lawful and equitable. She is represented by Peter Costea of Law Office of Peter Costea in Houston.
