HOUSTON – A Harris County consumer alleges his credit has been damaged because of an errant trade line on his report.

Mukul Advani filed a complaint on Aug. 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Trans Union LLC and Bank of America NA alleging that they violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Bank of America is reporting an obsolete trade line on his Trans Union disclosure. He alleges he disputed the trade line with Trans Union in June and that Trans Union's investigation results showed that neither defendant removed the trade line.

The plaintiff holds Trans Union LLC and Bank of America NA responsible because Bank of America allegedly failed to review all relevant information and Trans Union allegedly failed to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory or actual damages, plus punitive damages, along with costs, interest and attorneys’ fees. He is represented by Ken Okorie of Okorie & Associates in Houston.
