GALVESTON – A San Leon resident has filed a lawsuit against a New Jersey man who he says failed to deliver a converted firearm to him despite receiving nearly $6,000 to do the work.
Micah Kehtel brought the breach of contract suit against Massimo V. Gera on Aug. 14 in the Galveston County Court at Law No. 3.
The original petition states that Kehtel contracted with Gera two years ago about converting a gun barrel and exotic wood into “an Auto Mag gun with a complete .44 AMP, 16 1/2-in. barrel assembly with accelerator and commercial rear sights together with a one grip lug assembly, complete stock assembly with steel butt plate, forend iron and matching grips.”
Kehtel sent the weapon along with a check in the amount of $2,750 to Gera on Sept. 8, 2016. Approximately six months later, the defendant informed the plaintiff that the gun was complete.
Court documents further explain that Gera sent an image of the finished product and requested the remaining balance. According to Kehtel, he remitted another $2,750, but the respondent did not ship the gun.
Frederick L. Fuhr of The Fuhr Law Firm in League City is representing the plaintiff.
