HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges she was injured while shopping at a Houston beauty supply store after slipping in water on the floor.

Rosalynn Rice-Bakayoko filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in the Harris County District Court against SYC Outlet Inc., doing business as Uptown Beauty Supply, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 2, 2017, she was shopping at defendant's Uptown Beauty Supply at 11312 Westheimer Road when she slipped in a puddle of water on the floor. She alleges she suffered injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish, lost wages, disfigurement and medical care as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds SYC Outlet Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the condition and warn or cure it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but no less than $200,000 and such other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Scott R. Frase, Kraig L. Rushing and Barrett W. Beck of Bronston Legal PC in Houston.
