HOUSTON – An Uber passenger is seeking more than $200,000 after the driver allegedly caused a collision in Harris County.

Ntshona Davis filed a complaint on Aug. 20 in the Harris County District Court against Uber Technologies Inc. and Raphael Nwanoneze alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 5, 2017, she was a passenger in an Uber vehicle driven by Nwanoneze when his vehicle suddenly and without warning collided with another vehicle on Southwest Freeway in Harris County. She alleges she sustained injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Uber Technologies Inc. and Nwanoneze responsible because defendant Nwanoneze failed to maintain a careful lookout, made an improper right-hand turn and failed to yield while Uber allegedly failed to properly instruct and train their drivers.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Sam K. Mukerji and Jonathan E. Bleyer of Mukerji Law Firm in Houston.
