HOUSTON – Two of the defendants in a state district lawsuit filed after a female diner’s alleged fall from a seat at a German restaurant have provided original answers, per recent Harris County District Court records.
Records show that King’s Biergarten, LLC and Course Construction Group, LLC each formally responded to the allegations raised in the June suit filed by Traci Guthrie. Another co-defendant, HM Steel Fab, LLC, has not challenged the litigation.
As previously reported in The Southeast Texas Record, Guthrie claims a swinging chair gave out beneath her and caused her to fall while she and her family dined at King’s BierHaus last year.
The suit says that CCG and HM manufactured the piece of furniture.
King’s Biergarten asserts the subject incident was “not caused by a condition on King’s premises that posed an unreasonable risk of harm or injury to the plaintiff.”
CCG issues a general denial of Guthrie’s claims and reserves the right to amend its response.
