HOUSTON – A Harris County man is suing Chevron U.S.A., Inc. in response to allegedly getting hit in the head at its Mississippi facility.

In court documents filed on Aug. 29 in the Harris County 281st District Court, Ajee Jordan says that he was cleaning the inside of a tank at the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery last May 27 when “a beam fell from the ceiling of the tank” and struck his head.

Asserting he “was not constructing, repairing, renovating, or modifying any improvement,” Jordan claims the defendant failed to ensure the roof was safe for contractors to be cleaning in.

“The defendant was responsible for ensuring the roof was properly maintained and repaired, yet failed to do so,” the lawsuit says.

Court papers add that Chevron failed to place warning signs.

Consequently, Jordan seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by The Buzbee Law Firm in Houston.
