Jeff Co. seaman pursues legal action against employer after 60 lb. load of shrimp drops on him

HOUSTON – A Jefferson County seaman is suing his employer after a fellow crew member dropped heavy contents on him.

Van D. Duong filed a lawsuit against Capt. A&T LLC on Sept. 6 in the Harris County 164th District Court, claiming a 60 lb. load of shrimp hit him while he was about 15 ft. below in the ice hold of the defendant’s fishing vessel.

According to the original petition, the plaintiff sustained injuries to his head, neck, back, and body.

Consequently, he seeks unspecified monetary damages.
