HOUSTON – Two Harris County consumers alleged a travel trailer they took to a business to be restored instead was used to store trash.

Beckie Pratt and David Pratt filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in the Harris County District Court against Marrs Family Enterprises LLC, doing business as Cypress RV Rental, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and alleging common law fraud and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 28, 2016, they contracted defendants to repair, renovate and restore their 1999 Cherokee M-29S Travel Trailer. They allege that the defendant agreed the trailer would be restored in two weeks, but instead they "discovered their trailer was torn to pieces and being used as a storage facility for Cypress RV's excess equipment and trash."

The plaintiffs allege attempts to repair the trailer were made, but it remains unrepaired and not refurbished.

The plaintiffs hold Marrs Family Enterprises LLC and Cypress RV Rental responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide the promised repairs and refurbishments.

The plaintiffs seek all damages, attorney's fees, costs and interest and such other and further relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Denise Atkinson-Brown of The Law Offices of Denise Atkinson-Brown PLLC in Houston.
