HOUSTON – A couple is seeking damages from a Katy medical center after an elevator allegedly closed on the husband and caused him to fall.

Kenneth Bullock and Mary Bullock filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in the Harris County District Court against Katy Med-Arts Partners LTD, Katy Med-Arts Management LLC and Otis Elevator Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 21, 2016, Kenneth Bullock was injured while getting on of the elevator at the Katy Medical Arts Center when the doors closed on him and caused him to fall. He alleges he sustained serious and lasting injuries resulting in medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, impairment, disfigurement and mental anguish.

The plaintiffs hold Katy Med-Arts Partners LTD, Katy Med-Arts Management LLC and Otis Elevator Co. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to give adequate warning of the known dangerous condition of the elevator and failed to adequately repair the elevator.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of no less than $1 million and all further relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Brant J. Stogner and Kelly M. Woods of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
