HOUSTON – A customer at a Houston pizza restaurant alleges a defective chair trapped her fingers and caused injuries.

Kamillah Nelson filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in the Harris County District Court against CBS Investment Inc., CiCi Enterprises LP and Sun Holdings Inc. alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 8, 2016, she was injured at the defendants' CiCi's Pizza restaurant when the seat cushion and the legs of the chair she was sitting were separated, trapping two of her fingers. She alleges she suffered serious injuries that resulted in physical pain and disability, loss of earnings, medical expenses and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds CBS Investment Inc., CiCi Enterprises LP and Sun Holdings Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to remove and replace the defective chair from the dining area and failed to give adequate warning of the dangerous condition of the chair.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Brian E. White and Joshua R. Hilbe of Attorney Brian White & Associates PC in Houston.
