GALVESTON – A League City couple is suing Taylor Morrison of Texas, Inc. and Taylor Woodrow Communities - League City, Ltd. after “significant” mold growth was discovered in their home, recent Galveston County District Court records show.

Andrew and April Kohlmeyer filed a lawsuit on Sept. 17 in the Galveston County 10th District Court, claiming the defendants built the home with multiple construction defects that caused “unacceptable” levels of moisture and water to develop in the interior.

“The mold itself, as well as the construction defects that caused the mold, are latent defects that rendered the home unsafe, unsanitary, or otherwise unfit for living,” the suit says.

Consequently, the plaintiffs seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by Dax O. Faubus of The Faubus Firm in Houston.
