HOUSTON – A customer alleges she was injured at a Cypress restaurant because of a slick substance on the floor.

Zydrea Stewart filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the Harris County District Court against Cheddar's Restaurant Holding Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 25, 2017, she was an invitee at defendant's property in Cypress when she slipped and fell on a slick substance on the floor. She alleges she sustained serious injuries resulting in medical expenses, pain, suffering and mental anguish, physical impairment and loss of earning capacity as a result.

The plaintiff holds Cheddar's Restaurant Holding Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect its premises to discover the dangerous condition of the floor and failed to inform its invitees of the floor's dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of no more than $75,000 and all other relief to which plaintiff is justly entitled. She is represented by John Arthur Daspit and Swetha Sajja of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
