HOUSTON – A bar chain with headquarters in the city has been sued over a recent fatal motor vehicle accident, recent Harris County District Court records show.
The law firm Sico Hoelscher Harris LLP in Corpus Christi filed suit against Little Woodrow’s LLC on behalf of the late Blake Avila’s parents on Sept. 19 in the 189th District Court.
Rodney Avila and Cynthia Costilla allege that the Little Woodrow’s in Midland served multiple alcoholic beverages to patron Dwain Rodriguez some time between July 27 and 28.
The establishment was aware that Rodriguez was already intoxicated, the original petition says.
Rodriguez reportedly collided with the younger Avila, who would then succumb to his injuries sustained in the subject event.
The unnamed bartenders who purportedly tended to Rodriguez and 8086 L.L.C. join Little Woodrow’s as co-defendants in the litigation.
Consequently, the plaintiffs seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
