HOUSTON – A Liberty County man alleges he was injured when the tank he was cleaning had an electrical shock go through it.

Edward Culpepper filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the Harris County District Court against TPC Group LLC alleging negligence, premises liability and gross negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 7, the plaintiff was working at TPC's facility cleaning a tank when it became ungrounded, causing an electric shock to go through the tank. He alleges the electric shock caused him to violently shift his weight and land on the debris inside the tank. He alleges he sustained serious injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish, disfigurement and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff holds TPC Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct the condition created by the electrical shock to the tank, failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition and failed to warn of the electrical shock.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Shane McClelland of Law Offices of Shane McClelland LLP in Katy.
