AUSTIN – A Hidalgo County man alleges a piece of tile caused an eye injury on an Alton job site.

Jose Guadalupe Gonzalez filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the Travis County District Court against Infinity Surfaces LLC and Realtex Construction LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 29, 2016, he was employed by defendant Infinity and was working at a job site controlled by defendant Realtex when he was struck in the eye with a piece of tile that broke from a machine used by another employee to cut tiles. He alleges he sustained serious injuries, mental anguish, pain and suffering, medical expenses disability and reduction in earnings as a result.

The plaintiff holds Infinity Surfaces LLC and Realtex Construction LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate safety policies and practices and failed to provide proper assistance and training.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
