HOUSTON – A Pasadena woman is suing a local live music venue on claims that dimmed lights caused her to fall and suffer multiple injuries, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Amanda Petrie filed a lawsuit against Satellite Bar on Oct. 2 in the Harris County 189th District Court. Petrie says the lighting in question at the nightspot prevented her from negotiating a step.

“Both the floor and the step that the plaintiff tripped on were painted black, making the step impossible to see, particularly when the lights are dimmed,” the original petition says.

The subject event purportedly caused Petrie to suffer “a shattered radius, a snapped ulna, and injuries to her knee.”

According to the plaintiff, she had a metal planted implanted into her arm. She ultimately lost her job because of her injuries, the suit says.

Satellite is joined by Barrett’s Bar & Music, LLC; Scott Doyle and Eric Finley as co-defendants in the litigation.

Consequently, Petrie seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Robert J. Binstock and Melissa Binstock Ephron of the law firm Reich & Binstock, LLP in Houston are representing the complainant.
