Gal-Tex Hotel sued for negligence

GALVESTON — Next Friends is suing Gal-Tex Hotel Corp., citing negligence.

Patricia Mott and Jennifer Wilkins, individually and on behalf of a child, filed a complaint on Oct. 2, in the Galveston County District Court against Gal-Tex Hotel Corp., alleging that the premises controllers failed to keep the pool area safe for guests.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 27, 2017, the plaintiff who is a child was injured at defendant's Inn at the Waterpark. Patricia Mott and Jennifer Wilkins incurred medical expenses relating to the child's injuries. 

The plaintiffs hold Gal-Tex Hotel responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly maintain the pool area or alert guests to dangerous conditions.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus costs and such other and further relief to which they may show themselves justly entitled.
