HOUSTON — A seasonal employee is suing Macy's Corporation Services Inc., alleging negligence and an unsafe work environment, after several heavy boxes of bed linens allegedly fell on her.

Sherry Taylor filed a complaint on Oct. 3, in the Harris County District Court, against Macy's alleging that the Ohio corporation failed to develop and implement proper safety protocols.

Taylor alleges that on Oct. 17, 2017, she was working as a seasonal employee at Macy's Distribution Center when several boxes of heavy sheets allegedly fell on her neck, back and legs.

The plaintiff holds Macy's responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide necessary assistance, failed to provide proper equipment and failed to implement the accepted industry standard regarding sound ergonomic practices.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of over $200,000 but less than $1,000,000 and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled.

She is represented by Megan C. Savage and Scott P. Armstrong of Armstrong Lee Savage LLP in Houston.
