HOUSTON – A Houston consumer alleges a debt collector has harassed him with calls.
Frank J. Lara filed a complaint on Oct. 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against JPL Recovery Solutions LLC alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the defendant began calling the plaintiff in the spring of 2018 to collect on an alleged debt. The plaintiff alleges he asked the defendant to stop calling him and the request was ignored.
The plaintiff holds JPL Recovery Solutions LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly violated the FDCPA when it repeatedly called him despite his requests for the calls to stop.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, attorney fees, costs and any other relief as deemed just and appropriate. He is represented by Nathan C. Volheim and Taxiarchis Hatzidimitriadis of Sulaiman Law Group LTD in Lombard, Illinois.
