HOUSTON – A construction worker alleges his former employer failed to pay him the appropriate rate for overtime work.

Rudy Raymundo filed a complaint on Oct. 15 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Gulf Coast Pavers Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from May 2016 to May 2018 as a construction worker and driver. He alleges he often worked more than 40 hours per week. During the period, he alleges he did not receive overtime premium for the hours worked over 40 in a workweek at a rate of time-and-one-half his regular rate of payment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to recover unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, costs, and attorney’s fees and such further relief as the court deems just and equitable. He is represented by Josef F. Buenker and Vijay Pattisapu of The Buenker Law Firm in Houston.
