HOUSTON – A local man has filed a lawsuit against 24 Hour Fitness USA, Inc. after he was reportedly injured using an exercise machine two months ago.

Court documents filed on Oct. 16 in the Harris County 164th District Court state that David Mackey fell and fractured his ankle last Aug. 19 when a cable machine malfunctioned on him.

The original petition accuses 24 Hour Fitness of failing to properly inspect and maintain the machine.

Consequently, Mackey seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

The law firm Bronston Legal PC in Houston is representing the plaintiff.
