HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges she was injured at a store in the city because of a substance on the floor in the produce area.

Grecian Atkins-Clayton filed a complaint on Oct. 22 in the Harris County District Court against 99 Cents Only Stores Texas Inc. and 99 Cents Only Stores LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 24, 2016, she was injured at defendants' 99 Cents Only Store in Houston when she slipped and fell due to an unknown substance on the floor in the produce area. She alleges she sustained injuries to her left knee, shoulder and neck in the fall.

The plaintiff holds 99 Cents Only Stores Texas Inc. and 99 Cents Only Stores LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct the dangerous condition and failed to give notice about it.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and all other necessary relief. She is represented by Roderick D. Rodgers and Kenneth Stephens of Stephens PLLC in Houston.
