BEAUMONT – A Beaumont man alleges he was injured at a business in the city because of a slippery ramp.

Harold Pitre filed a complaint on Oct. 10 in the Jefferson County District Court against Magna Properties LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 5, 2016, he was a customer at defendant's premises when he slipped and fell because of a slippery ramp. He alleges he suffered severe pain in the right shoulder, back, right wrist and right hand and incurred medical expenses and loss wages as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Magna Properties LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to use a nonskid surface on the ramp and failed to place warning signs around the area where plaintiff slipped.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and for all other relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg of Jonathan C. Juhan Attorney at Law in Beaumont.
