HOUSTON – Claiming she sustained an eye injury at a local hair salon more than a month ago, Harris County resident Maria Teresa Romeu has filed a lawsuit.

In court papers filed against David Gustavo Perez Gonzalez and Marco A. Navarrete, both doing business as David Alexander Image Studio, on Oct. 31 in the Harris County 125th District Court, Romeu says she went to the defendants’ business for a cut and dye job last Sept. 14 when an employee caused hair dye to make contract with her eye. She notified the establishment about the incident and was purportedly told she would have her medical treatment paid for.

A visit to the Mattioli eye clinic determined that the plaintiff suffered “chemical conjunctivitis.” Romeu presented the defendants with the diagnosis and her medical bills, but “they refused to pay anything,” the original petition says.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Joshua A. Verde of The Verde Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
