HOUSTON – A Harris County couple is seeking damages from a Baytown tire shop over allegations it failed to properly install the tires on their vehicle.

Tyler Thornton and Robin Thornton filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the Harris County District Court against Rent-A-Tire LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege the defendant installed new tires on their vehicle. While traveling in Baytown on Nov. 3, 2016, after the tires were installed, a front tire came off the vehicle, causing them to lose control and striking parked ATVs.

The plaintiffs hold Rent-A-Tire LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly install the tires and failed to give adequate warning of the vehicle's dangerous condition.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which they may be justly entitled. They are represented by Christopher R. Soileau and Skylar Simons of The Soileau Law Firm PC in Deer Park.
