BEAUMONT – Rain water inside of the entrance of a Beaumont hospital is alleged to have caused a woman to fall.

Alicia Gail Espree filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the Jefferson County District Court against Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 12, 2016, she was a business invitee at defendant's premises when she slipped and fell because of rain water inside the entry way of the hospital. She alleges she sustained severe personal injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, medical expenses, physical impairment and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to remedy the dangerous condition and failed to provide adequate warning of the existing danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Taylor Miller of Reaud, Morgan and Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
