BEAUMONT – A Beaumont woman alleges a drink spilled by another customer at grocery store caused her to fall.

Catherine Rogers filed a complaint on Oct. 25 in the Jefferson County District Court against M&M Food Mart alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2016, she was injured at the defendant's Magnolia Street, Beaumont store when she slipped and fell on a spilled soft drink on the floor. She alleges she sustained severe and painful injuries to her neck, shoulders, back, left arm and left hip as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds M&M Food Mart responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep its premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to give adequate warning of any dangers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg in Beaumont.
