HOUSTON – A patient is suing a hospital and other medical entities over fall injuries she sustained during her hospital stay.

Dorothy Ferguson filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the Harris County District Court against Tenet Healthcare Corp., et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 27, 2016, she presented to defendant Park Plaza Hospital with complaints of chest pain and was admitted. She alleges while she was attempting to go to the bathroom without assistance, she fell and hit her head. She alleges she suffered injuries to her face, a laceration to the forehead and an intracranial hemorrhage, causing a left-sided parietal hematoma.

The plaintiff holds Tenet Healthcare Corp., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adequately prevent her from falling during her hospitalization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for all damages she suffered, with interest, costs and such other and further relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Tommy R. Hastings and Gregory L. Feste of Hastings Law Firm PC in The Woodlands.
