HOUSTON – A Harris County man has filed a lawsuit against Fitness International LLC, doing business as L.A. Fitness, over injuries he reportedly suffered while using its equipment.

The suit, which was filed on Nov. 8 in the Harris County 270th District Court, claims that a gym machine Xavier Cadena used on the defendant’s property on Aug. 21, 2017 “posed an unreasonable risk of harm.”

“There was no notice or warning, written or oral, in the form of a sign, or otherwise that a dangerous condition existed,” the complaint says.

Cadena says his injuries prevented him from working.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

Randall Novak of the R.L. Novak Law Firm in Houston is representing Cadena.
