HOUSTON – A local hospital’s state district lawsuit intends to have a personal injury attorney pay an outstanding lien reportedly incurred by his client.

Harris County District Court records show that the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, doing business as Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, initiated litigation against Aaron Isadore Bryant on Nov. 14 in the 125th District Court.

The suit explains that Bryant represented a woman named Yelafa Denise Rogers in a case arising from a 2016 motor vehicle accident. The plaintiff treated Rogers shortly after the wreck to the tune of $7,081.25, which court filings assert she has not paid.

A hospital lien was subsequently filed. The suit further states that Rogers, who is not a party, received an insurance settlement disbursement from the defendant.

“Despite requests for the defendant to honor and pay the Rogers hospital lien, the defendant has failed and continues to fail to do so,” the original petition says.

The law firm Sullins, Johnston, Rohrbach & Magers in Houston is representing the complainant.
