HOUSTON – ADT Security Services, Inc. has been sued by a local family in response to an alleged home invasion two years ago, recent Harris County District Court records indicate.

The Butch Boyd Law Firm in Houston filed a lawsuit on behalf of Lawrence and Danielle Berry and the couple’s two children in the 215th District Court on Nov. 21.

The suit explains that ADT sent employees who “were not qualified or legally authorized to work for a Texas licensed security company” to the Berry residence sometime in November 2016.

After the appointment in question, the original petition says, the plaintiffs were “brutally attacked” by unknown assailants. The attackers purportedly “knew facts about the home that only ADT would know.”

Court papers accuse ADT of misrepresenting that key security measures would be implemented.

Consequently, the complainants seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
