HOUSTON – A Harris County man is suing two companies after his finger was amputated when it was crushed by an engine.

Jason Green filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in the Harris County District Court against Zachry Construction Corp. and Zachry Industrial Inc. alleging negligent training and supervision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 25, the middle finger of his dominant right hand was amputated after it was crushed between a diesel engine and landing surface at a La Porte location. The suit states the defendants' personnel were involved in the rigging and lifting operation.

The plaintiff holds Zachry Construction Corp. and Zachry Industrial Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to reasonably train their employees to safely conduct rigging and lifting operations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Daniel Johnson and Juan C. Garcia of Johnson Garcia LLP in Houston.
