GALVESTON – A guest alleges a broken gate on a storm drain at a Texas City property caused injuries.

Sabas Lopez filed a complaint on Nov. 27 in the Harris County District Court against Bay Oaks SNF LLC, doing business as Lakes at Texas City, and 424 North Tarpey Road LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 1, 2016, Lopez was on defendants' property and fell through a broken gate on a storm drain. The suit states the plaintiff was injured.

The plaintiff holds Bay Oaks SNF LLC and 424 North Tarpey Road LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn of the dangerous condition and failed to make the condition reasonably safe.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which plaintiff is justly entitled. The plaintiff is represented by Christopher R. Soileau and Skylar R. Simons of The Soileau Law Firm PC in Deer Park.
